Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to Wake Me App on both Android and iOS. Privacy rights may vary depending on your country or region.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Wake Me App (When I'm There), including its Android and iOS applications and related services, collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information.

Wake Me App is provided by Brownbear Digital Productions AB, a company registered in Sweden under company registration number 559587-9924 ("Brownbear Digital Productions", "we", "us", or "our").

For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, Brownbear Digital Productions AB is the controller of personal data processed directly through Wake Me App, except where a third-party provider acts as an independent controller under its own terms and privacy policy.

By using Wake Me App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where consent is legally required, we will request it separately.

2. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to:

3. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on the features you use, your device, your permissions, your account status, your consent choices, and your platform.

3.1 Location Information

Wake Me App uses location information to provide location-based alarms, journey monitoring, checkpoints, and automatic journey or routine features.

Depending on your settings and permissions, this may include:

Current device location is primarily processed to determine whether you have reached a destination. Saved destinations, routes, checkpoints, routines, journey status, and related settings may be synchronized with your account through our cloud services.

Wake Me App does not use your saved destinations or precise journey coordinates for its own advertising purposes.

3.2 Account and Authentication Information

If you create or use an account, we may process:

We do not receive your Apple ID password, Google password, or complete payment-card information.

3.3 Saved App, Journey, and User-Created Information

We may store information you create or save in the app, including:

This user-created information may be synchronized with your account so that Wake Me App can provide, restore, and synchronize app features. Wake Me App uses this information for app functionality and does not use your route names, routine names, checkpoint notes, addresses, or other user-created content for its own advertising or marketing.

3.4 Token Information

We process information needed to operate the token system, including:

Tokens are associated with your Wake Me App account and are used only as digital app functionality.

3.5 Subscription and Purchase Information

If you purchase or restore Premium, we may process:

Android payments are processed by Google Play Billing. iOS payments are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.

Apple and Google handle your payment method and complete billing information under their own terms and privacy policies.

3.6 Advertising, Consent, and Tracking Information

Free users may choose to watch rewarded advertisements to earn tokens. Wake Me App uses Google Mobile Ads and, where required, Google's User Messaging Platform ("UMP") to manage advertising consent and privacy choices.

Google Mobile Ads and its advertising partners may process information such as:

On iOS, a free user may also be asked whether to allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency ("ATT") framework. If permission is granted, a device advertising identifier may be available to Google and its advertising partners for advertising personalization, measurement, or related purposes permitted by your consent choices and applicable law. Declining the ATT request does not prevent you from choosing to watch rewarded advertisements.

Premium and VIP users do not receive rewarded advertising through this flow. While an account is recognized as Premium or VIP, Wake Me App skips the advertising-consent, ATT-request, Google Mobile Ads startup, and rewarded-ad flow used for free users.

Advertising may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, or unavailable depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, age-related restrictions, and applicable law.

3.7 Device, Technical, and Diagnostic Information

We and our service providers may process technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the app, including:

Diagnostic collection depends on the platform, app version, and services that are actually included and enabled. For example, some third-party SDKs used for advertising or cloud functionality may collect limited crash, performance, or diagnostic information under their own privacy disclosures even where Wake Me App does not separately enable a first-party crash-reporting product.

3.8 Communications

If you contact us, we may process:

4. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

5. How We Use Information

We use information to:

6. Location Permissions and Background Location

Wake Me App depends on location access to provide its core features.

On supported devices, the app may request:

Background location is used for active journeys and enabled automatic journey or routine features. It is not intended to be used for unrelated surveillance or for creating advertising profiles.

You can change location access at any time through your device settings. If precise or background location is unavailable, alarms and routines may be delayed, inaccurate, or unable to operate.

7. Notifications

Wake Me App uses local notifications to alert you when you approach or reach a saved destination and to provide information related to active journeys.

You may disable notifications through your device settings. If notifications are disabled, Wake Me App may be unable to alert you when the app is in the background or the device is locked.

8. Rewarded Advertisements, ATT, and Privacy Choices

Rewarded advertisements are optional. Free users are not required to watch an advertisement unless they choose to use the token reward offered through that feature.

Where required for free users, Wake Me App uses Google's User Messaging Platform ("UMP") to:

On iOS, free users may also receive Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission request. Allowing tracking may permit a device advertising identifier to be used for advertising personalization and measurement. Declining tracking does not prevent you from choosing to watch rewarded advertisements.

Premium and VIP accounts are not shown rewarded advertising through this flow. While the account remains recognized as Premium or VIP, Wake Me App does not initiate the free-user UMP advertising flow, ATT request, Google Mobile Ads startup, or rewarded-ad loading. The Ad Privacy Choices entry is therefore not shown for Premium or VIP accounts when that advertising flow is not in use.

The availability of personalized or non-personalized advertisements may depend on your choices and local law. Refusing personalized advertising does not necessarily mean that no advertisement will be shown.

Free users may be able to revisit available advertising choices through Wake Me App's Settings screen when the option is required and available. iOS tracking permission can also be reviewed through the device's privacy and tracking settings.

9. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the United Kingdom GDPR, or similar law applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.

10. How We Share Information

We may share information with the following categories of recipients:

We require service providers acting on our behalf to process information only for authorized purposes and subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

11. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Depending on the privacy law that applies where you live, the use of advertising identifiers or disclosure of certain information to advertising partners may be described as "sharing", "targeted advertising", or a "sale" even when no money is exchanged.

Where required and applicable to the advertising flow available to your account, you can make advertising privacy choices through the UMP consent message, the app's Ad Privacy Choices option, and your device or platform privacy settings. On iOS, tracking permission can also be managed in the device's Privacy & Security settings.

12. Third-Party Services

Wake Me App uses third-party services that may process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

12.1 Google Firebase

Firebase services may be used for:

More information is available in Firebase Privacy and Security documentation .

12.2 Google AdMob

Google AdMob is used to load and display rewarded advertisements, verify reward events, prevent advertising fraud, and manage related consent choices.

More information is available in Google's Privacy Policy .

12.3 Google Play

Google Play may process account, purchase, subscription, device, and payment information for Android distribution, billing, purchase validation, subscription management, and refunds.

12.4 Apple Services

Apple may process information through the App Store, StoreKit, Sign in with Apple, device location services, notification services, and related operating-system features.

More information is available in Apple's Privacy Policy .

13. International Data Transfers

Brownbear Digital Productions AB is established in Sweden. Some service providers we use operate in multiple countries and may process information outside Sweden, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or your country of residence.

Where required, international transfers are supported by appropriate legal safeguards, which may include adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, provider certifications, or other mechanisms recognized by applicable law.

The privacy and transfer practices of independent third-party controllers are governed by their respective policies and legal obligations.

14. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and prevent fraud or abuse.

In general:

Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups, provider systems, or logs until normal deletion and backup cycles are completed.

15. Account and Data Deletion

Wake Me App provides an in-app account-deletion option. After the required confirmation and, where applicable, reauthentication, the app initiates deletion of the Wake Me App account and associated account-linked personal app data rather than placing the account into a 30-day delayed-deletion state.

If you cannot access the app, you may also contact us using the details below. Send the request from the email address associated with your account where possible. We may need to verify your identity before completing a deletion request.

Account deletion is designed to remove account-linked data such as:

A completed deletion starts an approximately 30-day introductory-token cooldown. During this period, recreating an account with the same recognized sign-in identity does not provide another introductory token grant. To enforce this anti-abuse rule, Wake Me App retains a limited, pseudonymous identifier derived cryptographically from the recognized sign-in identity. This temporary record is designed not to contain the raw email address, Apple account identifier, location history, routes, notes, or alarms.

Limited operational, deletion-processing, purchase, security, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other records may be retained where necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or to comply with applicable law. These limited records are separate from the deleted personal app profile.

Deleting your Wake Me App account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription through the store account used to purchase it. Where supported and eligible, a Premium entitlement may later be restored using the applicable store's purchase-restoration mechanisms.

16. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

These rights may be subject to legal conditions, limitations, and exceptions. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

To exercise a privacy right, contact us using the details in Section 24.

17. European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or applicable Swiss data-protection law.

You may also lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.

Our lead supervisory authority in Sweden may be the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten ("IMY"), depending on the circumstances and applicable law.

18. United States Privacy Rights

Residents of certain United States jurisdictions may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information and to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling.

We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising-related disclosures may nevertheless be considered sharing or targeted advertising under some state laws.

You can use the available advertising consent and privacy controls or contact us to submit an applicable request.

19. Advertising and Device Choices

Depending on your device and region, you may manage privacy choices through:

Changing a device setting may not delete information already collected or remove information that must be retained for another lawful purpose.

20. Children

Wake Me App is not directed to children under 13 or to children below a higher minimum age where required by local law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child in violation of applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided personal information without legally valid authorization, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Parents and guardians should supervise a child's use of location, advertising, account, and subscription features where applicable.

21. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.

These measures may include access controls, authenticated accounts, encrypted network connections, platform security features, database security rules, and restrictions on administrative access.

No method of transmission, storage, or security is completely guaranteed. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, email account, Apple ID, Google account, and other authentication credentials.

22. Automated Decisions

Wake Me App may use automated technical rules to:

We do not currently use automated decision-making intended to produce legal or similarly significant effects about individuals without appropriate human involvement.

23. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app, our business, service providers, platform rules, or applicable law.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be changed when the policy is revised. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
